Expected observations
- The beam balances when opposing moments are equal.
- Moving a mass farther from the pivot increases its moment.
- Unequal moments create angular acceleration.
Model limitations
The beam, pivot, and attached masses are idealized. Flexing, bearing friction, and three-dimensional motion are not represented.
