  1. Move the test mass to change its drop height.
  2. Press Play.
  3. Watch the platen compress, rebound, and settle.

Expected observations

  • The spring produces an opposing restoring force.
  • The mass and platen oscillate briefly.
  • Damping removes energy without freezing the spring.

Model limitations

The spring response is linear and the platform is represented by constrained rigid bodies. Real coil geometry and material fatigue are outside the model.

Simulation output is educational and approximate. Verify important results with independent calculations or physical measurements.
