Learning objectives

  1. Inspect the three liquid layers.
  2. Change a layer density or add an object.
  3. Press Play and observe layer-dependent buoyancy.

Expected observations

  • Honey settles below water and oil.
  • Oil forms the upper layer.
  • An object may rest at the interface where buoyancy balances weight.

Model limitations

Layers remain idealized and immiscible. Diffusion, emulsification, surface tension, and detailed flow between layers are outside the model.

Simulation output is educational and approximate. Verify important results with independent calculations or physical measurements.
